The Garden Family
Justin Reiswerg
Justin Reiswerg began his martial arts journey at just five years old, training for eight years and earning his black belt in Taekwondo. Throughout his youth, he was drawn to competition and athletics, developing a love for both traditional martial arts and extreme board sports.
He rediscovered martial arts during his time at Texas A&M University through Mixed Martial Arts, where what started as a passion quickly became a profession. Over the next decade, Justin built a career as both an amateur and professional fighter, competing for top regional promotions including Legacy FC and Fury FC. His journey ultimately brought him to Houston, where he continued to grow as both a martial artist and a coach.

Despite his success in competition, Justin has always believed he is, at heart, a martial artist first. That belief is the foundation of The Garden Martial Arts Academy.
The Garden was built to be more than a place to train—it’s a place to grow. Justin’s mission is to pass on the lessons martial arts has given him: discipline, confidence, resilience, and respect. As a father, he’s seen firsthand the impact of training, starting his own son at just three years old. He believes martial arts has the power to shape not just better athletes, but stronger, more capable people.
Coaching has always been at the core of Justin’s path. Even early in his training, he naturally stepped into leadership roles, eventually becoming a coach at Bam Bam Martial Arts shortly after beginning his professional career. While finishing his degree at the University of Houston, he balanced academics, coaching, and high-level competition—developing not just as a fighter, but as a teacher and mentor.
